Katie and Tom's Georgetown and Silver Spring Wedding Photo Booth!

Hurray for photo booths!  I recently photographed the adorable Katie and Tom, and was delighted that when they booked me, they added a photo booth!  I can't say enough good things about adding this feature to your package.  Where else can you get your aunt and uncle to wear some crazy garb and get in front of the camera?  Sure, I'll probably photograph them candidly on the dance floor...but wouldn't you rather have a photograph of them with crazy huge sunglasses on their faces, along with some awesome mustaches on a stick?  Of course you would!  And with Katie and Tom's wedding their family and friends did not disappoint!   Scroll below to see some hilarious photographs, and if you're part of this awesome group, you can head over to see some of them on Facebook (and even use one as a profile photo!) or you can head over to the main gallery page, see the full gallery, and purchase one if you like!  Enjoy! Lindsey and Daniel's Ceresville Mansion Wedding - Part Two!

If you missed Lindsey and Daniel's getting ready and ceremony photos from part one, go here!  However, if you're ready for some amazing reception photos full of a lot of laughter and fun, keep reading! As you may remember, Lindsey and Daniel had their entire wedding at Ceresville Mansion, so after the ceremony we headed indoors for dinner, dancing and festivities!  DJ Angie D kept us on track with everything, and really kept everyone engaged in the nights events.  DJ Angie D also came out on the dance floor to show guests moves to the songs if they didn't already know them, which was awesome!

I really love all the shots of the dancing from the evening.  It's hard to narrow down favorites, but I do love the portraits I was able to take of Lindsey and Daniel throughout the night, when we could catch a bit of a break!  The first few photos I thought were very Mad Men like, and if you know me well, you know I love Mad Men!  Lindsey and Daniel couldn't take a bad photo in my mind.  They were the perfect couple to work with!

Many thanks to Lindsey and Daniel for choosing me to be part of their special day!  Thanks to my assistant for the day, Asha, for all the help and encouragement...and also many thanks to family and friends I got to see at the wedding (some new, some old!)...you know who you are and you made the night even better!  :)

Thanks for looking!

Lindsey and Daniel's Cereseville Mansion Wedding - Part One!

I'm back to feature part one of Lindsey and Daniel's gorgeous Ceresville Mansion wedding!  If you missed their sneak peek from last week, take a look here! Ceresville Mansion was an amazing backdrop for what Lindsey and Daniel had in mind for their big day.  As you can see from the photos below, they went with a red/green/white theme, combined with a lot of natural elements like trees for their table decorations.  And the outdoor ceremony itself fit right in with that really natural, yet sophisticated look they were going for!  Lindsey looked absolutely stunning in her gown, and I particularly loved her purple heels she chose as her wedding shoes!  Combine her with Daniel in his dashing Army uniform, and you have one gorgeous bride and groom!

The setting was just stunning, and it was really hard to narrow down photos!  They are all beautiful, and everyone was so easy to work with to get the photos done quickly!  I do love the hilarious shots of the bridal and groomsmen parties though...particularly the one of the groomsmen watching some sporting event on a mobile device.  It's good to know that a wedding can't distract them from what's really important...a game!  Ha ha ha!  Enjoy the photos below, and stay tuned for their reception photos in part two!

Lindsey and Daniel's Cereseville Mansion Wedding - Sneak Peek!

It was an amazing weekend, and mostly because I got to photograph this incredible couple!  You may remember Lindsey and Daniel from their DC engagement session back in the summer.  Well, they're back on the blog, and this time they tied the knot in Frederick, Maryland at the incredible Ceresville Mansion!  This photograph in particular is my absolute favorite from the evening, so I had to share it straight away.  Although I love most of the photos I've seen from their wedding, this one just knocked my socks off (literally...where'd they go?  Who knows!).  Enjoy this sneak peek, and stay tuned for more shots from their beautiful wedding!

Ellen and Steve’s Rockwood Manor, Potomac Maryland Wedding!

I recently had the honor of photographing Ellen and Steve's weddding at Rockwood Manor in Potomac, MD...and their wedding was nothing short of amazing! It had so many elements to it, that it's really hard to know where to begin! First off, Ellen was totally into the DIY mindset, especially because's a graphic designer and knows how to run with a theme. She incorporated lots of colorful patterns and fabric that were echoed in everything from her wedding tree poster to her cupcakes! They also added the element of music into the color scheme, which you'll see in the place cards that people had corresponding to different music equipment manufacturers (Gibson, Pearl, Steinway, etc.). Not only that, but they had a grooms cake that was a banjo! It was genius! And of course they had plenty of bands play at the reception (Steve included in one!), which really brought the whole night together.

My favorite part of the night was probably when the whole wedding was over and we went down to a bonfire that was on the grounds! All the guests got to bring their wedding favors, which were boxes with s'more ingredients inside! In the boxes were some super creative s'more recipes that I had never seen before (you know, I'm your typical plain Jane when it comes to s'mores), along with some unique candy and marshmallows...and people loved eating them at the bonfire! People also broke out cigars for the occasion, but the biggest surprise at the bonfire was...wait for it...fire breathers! *gasp!* I knoooooooooooow! Ellen's step-brothers are actual fire breathers, and one of the guests just so happened to get exactly what they needed in order to put on a little show for us. How cool is that?! You'll see in the shots below that it was pretty amazing. Especially when they pass the fire to one another (the three panel). Just incredible!

I could go on and on about how much I loved this wedding in terms of the people and the photographic opportunities, but I won't! I just want to say thank you to Ellen and Steve, their families, and all their friends who made the wedding so wonderful and such a pleasure to photograph. Also, many thanks to Anna and Anne of Graceful Weddings for keeping the day running smoothly for everyone. Enjoy the photos below!

Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Losey!

In honor of Steve's birthday, I thought he and his lovely wife, Ellen, would love a couple of sneak peeks from this weekends wedding. And, you know, I'm sure other people will like these too. :) Happy birthday, Steve! Note: Everyone needs to take notice of Steve's amazing pocket watch that he's holding. Talk about completing an outfit, that watch was amazing!

Karla and Kevin's Newton White Mansion Wedding!

K-squared. Confused? Don't be! That's Karla and Kevin! Two K's destined to be together! I had the pleasure of meeting Karla and Kevin last year, and even took their engagement photos in a park with their dog, Taz. Their wedding finally rolled around this year, and I was ecstatic to shoot it! The lovely couple had their wedding at the Newton White Mansion, and although they intended to have their wedding outdoors, we got completely rained out! Instead, the ceremony and reception took place in the contemporary atrium that is an offshoot of the mansion, and really, it was the next best thing to being outdoors! As you'll see from the photos, you can still see the lush green outside and the openness of the atrium really lent itself to great lighting. Of course, Karla and Kevin looked incredible and filled the scene with such love, fun, and laughter, that it really made for some spectacular photos. I hope you enjoy the photos below. Thank you to Karla and Kevin (and their guests!) for such a fun day!

A Walk in the Park with Karla, Kevin and Taz - Engagement Session!

Last weekend I was able to photograph Karla, Kevin, and their beloved dog, Taz, in Bowie, Maryland!  Karla and Kevin are getting married in July and wanted to get some engagement shots underway at a nearby park to them...and who better to join us then their dog!  I for one am a dog owner, so thought it was smart to incorporate Taz in some photos, while also get him out of the house and sniffing through some fall leaves!  We had a great time relaxing at the park, walking and talking, and every once in a while snapping some photos!  I hope you enjoy the series below!  Thanks to Karla, Kevin and Taz for a lovely walk in the park!  :) k&k_park_engagements_1

Brandy and Chris' Annapolis, Maryland Engagement Session!

Last weekend I was able to photograph Brandy and Chris in one of my favorite spots, Annapolis, Maryland!  Annapolis is located on the Chesapeake Bay, northeast of Washington, DC.  I've been many times visiting friends and just relaxing near the harbor, and it is such a treat each time I go!  So needless to say, I was so excited to do their engagements in such a gorgeous spot!  Chris actually attended the U.S. Naval Academy, so he knew exactly where he wanted to go, and I was more than happy to follow him and Brandy around and snap along the way.  I had a hard time narrowing these photos down, so please enjoy the plethora of them to follow.  Thanks Brandy and Chris for such an amazing time! b&c_engagement_annapolis_1

I recently had the honor of photographing Kathryn and Matt's wedding in Bethesda and Glen Echo, MD!  As you'll see by the photos, I am a huge fan of Glen Echo Park (and you would be too!) where Kathryn and Matt held their reception.  I have been there a couple times before, and am so in love with it!  Who wouldn't want to photograph at an old amusement park from the late 60's?  ;)  I had a beautiful setting and an amazing wedding party as usual.  Here are just a few to get you started!  Many thanks to Kat and Matt for such a wonderful time!  Enjoy! k&m_glen_echo_1
