This wedding is incredibly special to me because it was the wedding of Peter, my awesome brother-in-law, and Belen, his awesome fiancée (now wife!). When our family met Belen for the first time, we knew immediately that she was the right match for Peter. She's an incredibly sweet and gentle person, while at the same time being a no-nonsense kind of gal! Being married to a Boggs man myself, I can attest you have to hold your own around them, and Belen certainly does around Peter! They completely balance each other out, and I could not have been happier to photograph their wedding! We started out the wedding day at Belen and Peters condo where Belen was getting ready. Belen's whole family is incredibly talented, so they were the ones helping with hair and makeup that morning! Not to mention they cooked some amazing Ethiopian food for us which was hard to resist! After getting ready we drove to the church where both the ceremony and reception were going to be held, St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Falls Church. I had never been there before, and on the outside it's white and very plain. However, once you go indoors you're completely surrounded by ornate woods, columns paintings and stained glass. It was gorgeous! The ceremony was just lovely and there were a few happy tears shed before we all hopped in some limos and headed out to the Capitol area for a few group and couples photos! Belen and Peter's wedding party did a great job goofing off and modeling for me, and Peter and Belen radiated in their photos together. After that we took a break at a nearby hotel before we headed off to the reception back at the church. The Ethiopian food that evening was to-die-for (my mouth is watering as I type this), and I also had a blast photographing the dancing that continued for many hours. Belen's family loooooooooooves to dance, so we were up there shakin' it up until the very end!
Belen and Peter, thanks so much for letting me photograph your wedding! I'm so happy for you both and I wish you so much love and happiness in your marriage! Enjoy!
Thanks for looking!
