Allison and Ryan’s Bristow Manor Wedding – Part Two!

As promised, here is part two of Allison and Ryan's wedding at Bristow Manor Golf Club! You can look at the previous post here...but who needs to look at those photos when you have these fabulous dancing photos to sift through! Let's just say Allison and Ryan's family really new how to turn up the heat and have a great time! I myself typically bounce around on the dance floor (hey, it's hard not to! But I keep the camera gear safe, I promise!). However, they blew my moves out of the water! One of my favorite DJ's, DJ Derek Romanoff, kept everyone on the dance floor and enjoying themselves all night. It was quite a celebration!

You'll also see some of Allison and Ryan's other details from the wedding, including the menu from Bristow Manor Golf Club displayed via chalkboard, as well as their take-home wedding cookies, which looked amazing! And I cannot forget their cake which had the cutest cake toppers I've seen in a while...personalized wedding dolls that they had made (with their dog included!). Absolutely adorable!

Thanks again to everyone who made this wedding such a success, I had a blast! Enjoy the photos below!

Allison and Ryan’s Bristow Manor Wedding – Part One!

It's cloudy and cold on this Thursday afternoon, but I haven't been feeling so bad looking at Allison and Ryan's wedding! I photographed their special day a few weeks ago at the Bristow Manor Golf Club, and I get so much warmth and delight from it...it makes me super happy! You might remember Allison and Ryan from their engagement photos at the Manassas Battlefield. The day of their engagements was a very cloudy and rainy day, however their wedding day was just the opposite in terms of weather! It was a gorgeous, with so much sunlight and an incredible sunset...really the most ideal you can get for a wedding! The brightness and love of the day totally comes through in their photos! You'll see that Allison and Ryan really incorporated a lot of DIY elements in their wedding, and carried a white/navy/green theme throughout! I really loved that Allison painted pumpkins white, which gave the fall theme some unique elegance! I also loved how they used Ryan's last name, "Bell," as a design element with their Jar of Wishes cards and their table place cards! Their details fit in so well with the beautifully white Bristow Manor, and I don't think it could have looked better. My favorite part of their wedding was during the ceremony though, when they had the blessing of their wedding rings! Allison and Ryan used a small, white fabric pumpkin to hold their rings, and had the guests pass it around (before the ring exchange). I'd never seen anything like that, but it was a beautiful way for their family and friends to participate by having every person acknowledge their rings and bless them in their new marriage. So cool!

Many thanks to Allison and Ryan, their family and friends, and to Karen and the crew at Bristow Manor Golf Club for allowing us to drive around on some golf carts (you'll see one of the happy couple in one below!). I had such a blast and I hope you enjoy the photos below! And stay tune for part two to follow soon!

Allison and Ryan’s Engagement Session at Manassas Battlefield!

I recently photographed Allison and Ryan at one of my favorite places, the Manassas Battlefield!  I used to stomp around in this battlefield back when Mike and I lived close by in Haymarket...it really is one of the most beautiful, calming places to visit...even if you're not taking photos! On the day of the engagement session, Allison and I were communicating back and forth because the weather was calling for rain, but more toward the evening and nighttime.  So, we decided to give it a go in the afternoon and hoped the rain would hold off for us!   Allison and Ryan were a delight to photograph with, and they really embraced my ideas for places to go and poses to try out.  I'm always surprised when couples admit they might not be the best at posing, but then they really find their inner model during the shoot.  Allison and Ryan rocked it!

If I had to choose a favorite of shot of the day, it might be the one where they're sitting in the grass with the sun going down in the background (be it a cloudy sunset!).  But, you decide!

Thanks so much to Allison and Ryan for braving the weather and photographing with me!  You guys did a great job, and I'm so glad we got the photos in before the rain.  :)  Enjoy!
