Jenny and Steven's Fort Myer Wedding!

I knew the first time I sat down with Jenny that she was my kind of bride.  We both met over wine and discussed her wedding photography, and the excitement and delight that she had toward her wedding was amazing.    I was so thrilled when she decided to work with me for her wedding, and I loved the shots we were able to get! On the day of Jenny and Steven's wedding, Jenny had requested to do a first look with her father.  This was completely new to me, but she didn't want to see Steven beforehand, and I thought, "Hey, why not?"  It was an awesome first look, and I felt incredibly lucky to see how close a father and daughter can be.  After the first look, we prepped for the ceremony which was beautiful.  Jenny looked stunning (and holy cow, I loooooooved her veil!).  Some tears were shed, but it was such a happy occasion.  My favorite shots of the day were following the ceremony when Jenny and Steven went back to their home so we could take some photos of them alone...and also with their dog, Tini (short for Martini).  I think if couples have a dog, they should totally try and incorporate it!  It was really special to get the entire family together in one shot, and in their wedding attire at that!

Thanks so much, Jenny and Steven, for allowing me to photograph your wedding.  I'm so sad that you moved to Texas (what about our follow-up wine date, Jenny?!), but I hope you come back and visit soon!  Also, many thanks to the wedding planners of Sweetface Events and the awesome makeup artistry of Jamie D'Agostino.  Enjoy the photos!

Ingrid and Pat's Marine and Navy Wedding - Part Two!

I'm back with part two of Ingrid and Pat's wedding day, continuing with photos all taken at the gorgeous The Mayflower Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel!   If you missed part one, check it out here, and go here for their hilarious photo booth photos! I had a hard time narrowing these down (which you'll probably realize once you get scrolling!).  I just thought there were so many unique photographic opportunities at this venue!  My favorites from this group are probably the ones taken from outside the Mayflower, looking up at Ingrid and Pat on the balcony of their hotel suite.  However, I also love the ones of them in front of the theatre-like curtain of the ballroom we had the reception in!  Eek!  Too many choices (see why I had a hard time?).

All in all, the entire reception experience was amazing.  Ingrid and Pat's family and friends didn't disappoint at all (particularly on the dance floor!), and you can just see the excitement in the air!  I had such a wonderful time photographing Ingrid and Pat's wedding, and I can't thank them enough for the opportunity.  Thanks so much guys, and please enjoy the photos below!

Ingrid and Pat's Marine and Navy Wedding - Part One!

Last week I posted photos from Ingrid and Pat's hilarious photo booth.  This week it's time to take a glimpse at Ingrid and Pat getting ready for their wedding and getting officially hitched! To recap, I met Ingrid and Pat over a year ago: Ingrid is a nurse and Lieutenant in the United States Navy and Pat is a Landing Force Communications Officer in the United States Marine Corps.  Ingrid was deployed in Afghanistan for most of 2010, but returned in the late Fall of 2010.  This couple is just extraordinary, and you can tell in the photos that they love each other dearly.  What I love most about them is that they're both fun-loving, but both can turn on their inner models like that!  However, it doesn't last too long because Pat is the comedian of the duo, always there to do a few hilarious impressions (my personal fav, Gloria, from Modern Family) to make Ingrid laugh.  You'll be able to tell in some of their ceremony photos that Pat just could not contain himself and made Ingrid giggle a few times.  :)

I hope you enjoy these photos below!  The getting ready shots were taken at The Mayflower Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel, and the ceremony shots were at the Fort Meyer Chapel.  We did stop at Iwo Jima on the way back to the reception site and got some beautiful photos there too!   Enjoy!
