Ashley and Will's Oxon Hill Manor Wedding!

When I first met with Ashley and Will, I was super excited because Ashley works for one of my favorite florists in the area, The Enchanted Florist.  I was even more excited after we all got to talking and Will mentioned that he had a Ducati motorcycle that he wanted to incorporate in some photos with them.  Beautiful flowers: check.  Motorcycle: check.  Awesome couple: check.  So I'm sure you can imagine how elated I was that they decided to choose me as their photographer! Ashley and Will were married at the super stunning venue, Oxon Hill Manor.  Before our arrival, we did some prep and detail photos at the Hotel Monaco of which I was pretty stoked about.  Ashley had brought one of her dogs, Sophie, to the hotel, so it was really hard to have to shoot details when there was a crazy cute dog around!  Luckily, Mike was able to get some stellar shots of Sophie relaxing while everyone got ready.  Upon arrival at Oxon Hill, Ashley was thrilled to see all of her Enchanted Florist pals working on the details with the flowers.  I have to say, I don't think I've ever seen so many flowers at a wedding, and they were all stunning.  Even up until right before the ceremony, Ashley herself was working on trimming her bouquet so it looked flawless.  Now that's dedication!

The ceremony was inside due to some impending rain, but it was just as gorgeous as if it were outside!  Ashley and Will absolutely beamed with excitement throughout the whole thing.  I just love how Will looked at Ashley...it took my breath away!  After the ceremony we took some awesome portraits of the family, wedding party and couple, and then headed inside for their beautiful reception.  Kelley Cannon Events kept the entire event running smoothly, and we all had a fabulous time.  When it was time to cut the cake, I sort of winced because Ashley and Will's Maggie Austin cake was one of the most flawless cakes I'd ever seen!  But Ashley and Will kept it very classy and delicately fed each other their super gorgeous (and I assume very yummy) cake!  The rest of the evening was spent dancing and partying, and eating tons of candy provided by Main Event Caterers incredible candy bar.  Later on, Mike and I took some nighttime photos of Ashley and Will inside on the staircase and then out on the porch where...you may have guessed it...the glorious Ducati was waiting for us!  I was so pleased with how our Ducati photo turned out, and I know Will was too.  :)

I can't thank Ashley and Will enough for hiring Mike and I to photograph their special day.  I had an absolute blast with all of the amazing vendors they worked with, and also just loved spending time with their family and friends.  It was truly a special day, and I hope you enjoy the photos!

Ashley and Will's Oxon Hill Manor Wedding - Sneak Peeks!

On Sunday I was delighted to photograph Ashley and Will's wedding at Oxon Hill Manor, in Oxon Hill, Maryland!  Mike assisted me on this one and we really had an amazing time with Ashley, Will and friends and family.  Below are some of our fav's from the day, one of which includes Will's Ducati motorcycle!  Hurray!  Hope you enjoy!

Alexis and Andrew's Oxon Hill Manor Wedding!

It's pretty crazy to think that I met Alexis and Andrew almost a year and a half ago!  Alexis found me through the amazing local area blog, United with Love, and I couldn't be more thankful for that!  I've enjoyed each time I have spent with this couple, whether that was at their engagement session or just meeting to go over wedding logistics.  They're just awesome! Alexis and Andrew's wedding day began at the Embassy Suites in Old Town, a gorgeous hotel not too far from Oxon Hill Manor.  I really loved some of the getting ready photos, just because you could really feel the emotion of the day in them.  Alexis looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown, and you could see how excited all her bridesmaids were for her!  Once we all arrived at Oxon Hill I was able to take a few bridal portraits of Alexis which I just looooooooove.  She just has this old Hollywood glamour about her that is hard to stop photographing!  But I think my favorite getting ready photo was of Alexis and her dad in her suite.  Taken through the mirror on the wall, you can see her father's excitement seeing her for the first time in her dress.  It's just so sweet!

The rest of the wedding day was absolutely beautiful.  Alexis and Andrew's ceremony was a traditional Ukrainian ceremony, which had a lot of elements I enjoyed.  My favorite part was probably the crowning of Alexis and Andrew.  This was when Alexis and Andrew were both crowned with wreaths, which symbolizes that they will be the king and queen of their own family kingdom, ruling side by side.  Who wouldn't love that?  :)  After the ceremony we took lots of awesome photos, and it you'll notice through the photos you see that the wedding instantly turned into a fun celebration.  Everyone was just having an amazing time, even before we started the reception!  Once the reception started rolling though, more fun was to be had for sure.  One of my favorite parts of the reception was her maid of honor starting her toast to Alexis, but then launching into a dance sequence with the other bridesmaids and dancing around Alexis.  It was amaaaaaazing!  But I can't forget about one of my favorite guest appearances, Morton the mallard.  It's a tradition with Alexis and her Boston University gals to bring Morton to every wedding they attend and make sure he's photographed throughout the reception.  I think Morton had a great time (as did I!).

Alexis and Andrew's Oxon Hill Manor Wedding - Sneak Peek!

This past Friday I finally got to photograph Alexis and Andrew's wedding at Oxon Hill Manor in Oxon Hill, Maryland!  I've been waiting over a year for their special day, and I was so excited to be a part of it.  I was also excited to try out a photograph I had pictured in my head for a while with the two of them, which was on the staircase at Oxon Hill.  It's one of my favorite shots from this year, and I hope you enjoy it!  More to come!
