Jeamy and Luke's Bristow Manor Wedding!

On Halloween weekend I photographed Jeamy & Luke's wedding out in Nokesville, VA at Bristow Manor Golf Club!  I've been to this location before, so was excited to return, especially since it's somewhat out in the less-built-up part of Northern Virginia.  We were dodging rain most of the day, but all in all, it was a great time!  And who can complain about the rain when you get images like the ones below, particularly the first one?  Where there is rain, there are clouds...and in this case, really amazing ones at sunset!  I hope you enjoy the two below!  Thanks to Jeamy, Luke, and their incredible friends and family for a wonderful day!

Aaron, Mindy and Raegan's Family Portrait Session!

It's been a little over a year since I've seen this delightful family!  Raegan has grown so much and is as cute as ever!  The last time I saw her she was a mere three months old, which is crazy!  So when Mindy wanted to get together to do some family portraits, I was super excited to get to hang out with them all again!  The fam was nice enough to pack it up and come see me in Great Falls, and we went to a nearby playground where Raegan had a blast!  I'm not sure what was more fun to Raegan: the swing, the merry-go-round, or her dad throwing her up in the air.  By a smile rating, it's a tough call, but I'm going to go with "dad throwing her up in the air."  Ha ha!  Weigh in below with what you think!  Thanks to Aaron, Mindy and Raegan for a wonderful time!  Enjoy!

A Walk in the Park with Karla, Kevin and Taz - Engagement Session!

Last weekend I was able to photograph Karla, Kevin, and their beloved dog, Taz, in Bowie, Maryland!  Karla and Kevin are getting married in July and wanted to get some engagement shots underway at a nearby park to them...and who better to join us then their dog!  I for one am a dog owner, so thought it was smart to incorporate Taz in some photos, while also get him out of the house and sniffing through some fall leaves!  We had a great time relaxing at the park, walking and talking, and every once in a while snapping some photos!  I hope you enjoy the series below!  Thanks to Karla, Kevin and Taz for a lovely walk in the park!  :)

Brandy and Chris' Annapolis, Maryland Engagement Session!

Last weekend I was able to photograph Brandy and Chris in one of my favorite spots, Annapolis, Maryland!  Annapolis is located on the Chesapeake Bay, northeast of Washington, DC.  I've been many times visiting friends and just relaxing near the harbor, and it is such a treat each time I go!  So needless to say, I was so excited to do their engagements in such a gorgeous spot!  Chris actually attended the U.S. Naval Academy, so he knew exactly where he wanted to go, and I was more than happy to follow him and Brandy around and snap along the way.  I had a hard time narrowing these photos down, so please enjoy the plethora of them to follow.  Thanks Brandy and Chris for such an amazing time!

Libby and Matt's Old Town Alexandria Engagement Session!

I've been waiting for a while for a couple who would embrace some rain, and I finally met my match with Libby & Matt!  I met them both down in Old Town, Alexandria this past weekend, with my awesome new assistant, Mr. Mike Boggs.  Libby & Matt came complete with wellies and an umbrella (as did Mike and I), and we braced ourselves for what could have been some major rain.  Luckily, the heavy rain and storms didn't come through until after noon that day, so we just got some cloudy skies, with a lot of puddles!  As you'll see below, Libby and Matt were an amazing pair to work with, and totally embraced the atmosphere we were in.  Engaged couple + rain + wellies = magical.  Hope you enjoy!

Christie, Richard and The Manassas Battlefield - Part One!

This past weekend I photographed one of my favorite couples again, Christie & Richard!  Their wedding was back in August, which you can view here and here, and we had planned on doing a portrait session after the fact that would be a little more laid back and natural.  So, we all met up at one of my favorite places of all time, the Manassas Battlefield!  There are so many photos I'm going through that I love and want to share, but here are a few to get you through to the next blog post.  I hope you like!  I absolutely love the bouquet toss below...one of my fav's!  :)  Thanks so much to Christie and Richard for a wonderful time (as usual!).  Enjoy!

Amy and The Potomac!

This weekend I was able to shoot some portraits of my friend, Amy, here at Riverbend Park in Great Falls.  I wanted to take her to this beach-like area on the Potomac (which, I might add, is completely calm!  No crazy rapids, I promise!).  We had a good time at sun down splashing around in the water (and yes, I was in the water too!).  It got a little cold and muddy, but it was totally worth it.  Even little Penny pup got to be a part of a few shots, which looked great!  Thanks to Amy for such being such a good sport!  Hope you enjoy!

Christiane and Richard's Washington, DC Wedding - Part Two!

It's time for Christiane and Richard's wedding formals!   These are some of my absolute favorite formals I've done in a while.  I had a great wedding party to work with, along with the beautiful, historic setting of downtown DC.   The church was Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church, and provided a gorgeous white marble backdrop, complete with several steps and giant columns.   We had quite a few formals outside, and alternatively had some inside as well.  After our church photos we decided to brave the DC traffic on Pennsylvania Avenue and attempt some photos in front of the Capital!  We were a good distance away, but were able to find the perfect spot in the median between moving traffic.  It was amazing! I can't emphasize enough how awesome Christiane, Richard and their wedding party were.  They really went all out to help make these photos as beautiful as they are, so many kudos go out to them!  The photos in front of the Capital are certainly my favorite, which you will see at the very end.  I hope you enjoy all of these (and there are a lot) as much as I do!
